swirl_jeff Posted October 3, 2003 Share Posted October 3, 2003 My pulsing Xenia is fading away fast, about 1/10th the size it was when purchased. All other corals are jamming; encrusting xenia, finger and cabbage leather, zoos and blue and red mushrooms. The mushrooms are growing so fast I've been having to give away 3 or 4 a week. The pulsing Xenia is near the top and away from the others. I've been dosing Coral-Vital and Lugol's and like I said, everything else is growing rapidly. What gives? Link to comment
Crakeur Posted October 3, 2003 Share Posted October 3, 2003 Xenia can either grow like a weed or be very difficult to keep alive. I've had frags take off and spread and others, from the same colony die by the wayside. It could be too much water flow, too little flow, light, other corals nearby, etc. I have also noticed that one of my two xenia colonies has moved to a better position (for it) and it will now probably become an issue with my stonies that are in the vicinities.
