overflow box help

I'm considering purchasing an overflow box to run from my 10 gallon AGA down to a 5 gallon that will fit nicely under my 10 gallon.

 

I want to build a refugium in the 5 gallon packed with miracle mud and macro and mangroves.

 

any ideas?

External overflow or are you going to drill the tank?

if i remember correctly, a 5gal tank is not that big. after the baffles and space for a pump, you are not left with much space to have an effective DSB and fuge.

i want to do an external overflow, i dont want to drill.

 

and i looked into the hang on refumgiums and they are only a few gallons as well.

wouldn't 600 gph be a lil much for a 10 gallon?

Up to 600 gph. I'm just putting out there as an option. It's been sitting in my closet more more than a year and this thread reminded me of it.

 

EDIT: Yes, 600 gph would probably be a bit much for a 10g with a 5g sump. You could easily run 400 gph though; that'd be good flow in the tank and fast enough to create microbubble problems.
