joel sandoman
Ok, so I am running a Rio 10HF as my return pump. Suddenly in the last few weeks, when I unplug the pump to do a water change, the pump will not start back up when I plug it in. I have to pull the parts out of it and put it back together for it to start up again. Everything inside seems to look ok. The magnetic part seems to have some wear lines on it, but other then that all looks well. Any ideas on what's going on? I have also noticed microbubbles in my display now, coming from the return. Thanks Link to comment

disaster999
would be wear problem with the pump. how long have you had it for? try changing the impeller for a new one. chances are its just old and worn out. Link to comment
joel sandoman
pump is six to eight months old. Is the impeller the magnetic part at the very inside? Link to comment
disaster999
the impeller is that magnet looking thing with either a rode through it or a hole where the rode slides through thats usually attaached to the paddles to move water Link to comment
