reefsrule
Wow. Everyone kept telling that the brown diatoms would go away, and to my suprise, it did:P That's when I discovered that it had been replaced w/this purple stuff! I don't know if its algae or not, but its completely purple and when I try to scrape it off, it comes of 2gether, like in pieces almost. Does anyone know what it is and if there's a method to get rid of it? Maybe phosphates ??? Link to comment

mattie
coraline algea is hard if you rub it with a toothbrush it wont come of the rocks and it wont be a big patch on the sand bed that you can wipe away. the easy to wipe away algae is usaully cyanobacteria it means there is high amount nutrients in the water do a water change/feed less/ add protien skimmer are ways to lower the nutrient count in the water Link to comment
