96w For 7-Gallon Minibow?

Hellolights.com has this hood on sale for $97.00:

I wanted to upgrade the lights on my AGA 7-gallon minibow (currently 32w CSL retrofit) and my questions are:

 

1) Is 96w too much light for the tank?

 

2) The tank measures around 16" but is there a way to fit this hood to my minibow (with or without the legs)?

 

3) Does anyone have any other suggestions for lighting for the 7-gallon minibow?

1) No.

 

2) By a DIY pendant, or simply lay on top.

 

3) People have succesfully retro'd a 2x32 in a minibow. You may want to try a 70w MH.
