tylernt
This thing is about as wide as a pencil, and hitchhiked in on my LR. When I stir up the sand, it's revealed to have many tiny white hairs sticking out in all directions, each also as long as a pencil is wide, that the sand particles stick to. Over the course of a day or so the particles fall off. I have never ever heard of anything like this... any ideas? Link to comment
Dave ESPI
It is known as cat's tail seagrass. it is common in Atlantic KEYS rock and Gulf rock and can be difficult to keep growing in the home aquarium. I donno why, but it just is. SPecies is : Neomeris annulata Link to comment
tylernt
Cool, thanks Dave, and on a small fuzzy photo too. Perhaps part of the reason it's hard to keep, is as with most algaes: the lack of nitrates and phosphates in your average reef aquarium. Hm, wonder if Kent makes a nitrate supplement/additive... haha. Link to comment
