LITTLEFISHEE
This afternoon, I noticed that my long tentacle plate coral had something in it's grasp. I was shocked to see one of my blue-green reef chromis on it's way into the plates mouth. I pulled him out and put him in a tupperware and he looks better, but it has sting marks all over his body. Is there any chance that he will recover?:*( Link to comment
maroonclown
I see no reason why it shouldn't fully recover. Then again, if a fish as active as a chromis can get caught by a plate coral, something must be wrong. Is this the first time this has happened? Link to comment
LITTLEFISHEE
Yes it was the first time this happened. It seems okay now. I was worried about the Lionfish getting him. Link to comment
maroonclown
I was worried about the Lionfish getting him. You have a lion in a nano?! Or is this a larger tank? Link to comment
LITTLEFISHEE
This is in my 110, I've started to take my 11 gallon apart and transfer it to the larger tank. The chromis is originally from the 11 gallon. When should I take him out of quarantine? Link to comment
maroonclown
When should I take him out of quarantine? This can vary. It might be 1 day, but it could be 2-3 weeks too. You should move him when he's back to or close to his normal health. Hope this helps. Link to comment
LITTLEFISHEE
Thanks for the help Maroonclown, I sure do appreciate it! I think he'll be ok, he just needs time to eat without competition. Link to comment
