is a maxi jet 900 too much flow for a 10g? i plugged it in and its really moving some water. i dont want to blow everything out of the tank, and it seems to be doing just that

Problem with the Maxi-Jet puts out a more linear flow than some other types of powerheads. But, it's not too much flow. If you want a more dispersed flow, look at a Koralia.

MJ1200 + 10g no good. Dont know abot a 900.

If you use the flow deflector against the glass

I think its fine

Though Nano korolia is better than a Maxi jet without a doubt

Maxi jet is better because you can do many things with it.... a K-nano is just... a "water fan"

?

For flow in the tank I would prefer the dispersed flow of the Korolia to the linear flow of the maxijet

however

the maxijet is an extremely versatile powerhead

You can mod the hell out of maxijets also.

true

the "sureflow" mod gives the maxi jet a dispersed flow pattern

cant really do anything with a korolia as far as I know

I guess its just personal preference

The maxi will be just fine.

My Reef lake is doing great. I just found a hitchhiking duck billed platy in my LR.

I use a Maxi-jet 900 to mix and aerate my saltwater for water changes in a 6 gallon bucket doesnt seem to be to violent. I would try a the maxi-jet 900 with a Hydor flo rotating deflector in that 10 gallon might create a nice wave effect.
