three inch dsb?

I now have three inches of "bahamas oolite" live/araganite reef sand will this work as a dsb?

 

up and running now,

15 gal 18'' tall

coralife 20'' 96 watt quad with 50/50 smart bulb

50 watt heater

power sweep 212

40 lbs live sand

5 lbs of life rock (it was all I could afford)

my specific gravity is @1.024 and water temp is @ 82 f

DSBs are not realy that beneficial in a nano and you loose precious water volume. General Concensus says about and 1~1.5 inch deep for sand will do fine. Add some good quality dead coral rock to your live and you will save $$ and end up with all of it live. Powersweeps have had mixed reviews on here, do a search for tips on maintinaing them.
