the effects of rust and nano reefs....

I just made a moon light out of 12watt blue l e ds(if anyone wants to make there own let me know I will send t hem instructions its not hard and it only costs about 10.00 total)

 

and it is screwed to the little hood that you lift up to up food in

because I didn't have any room inside the light hood

although the l e d strip is water proof I just relized that the backing on it is metal and it does get pretty wet due to evaporation

so I am wondering if it will have any adverse effects on the tank if it was to get rust on it

A little silicone will do wonders. Do not let rust water drip into your tank. The only thing it could possibly do is cause trouble.

ok-good idea-I am so stupid I should have siliconed it to the hood instead I put a screw in

oh well
