burtbollinger Posted January 24, 2009 Share Posted January 24, 2009 I added some alk component to my freshly mixed water in order to raise it....In doing so I upped it to around 12 dkh...my tank sits at 10. I'd like to lower the alk. in the new water before I put it in the tank.....will alk. lower as the water just sits in the mixing container? Link to comment

bdare Posted January 28, 2009 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Yeah... and the alk at 12 will not increase the overall alk in the tank by a noticeable level assuming you are sticking with the 10-20%. Link to comment
