Tennreefer
Well here is whats goin on.i started this tank Dec.13th 2008.(BC29).Had a small cycle.26lbs of cured live rock(nice and purple). No Ammonia,.Nitrites or .trates.Salinity 1.023.yes a lil low,im workin on that.I have some hitchhiker Xenia that looks bad today, real shriveled.Told LFS.They told me my alkalinity was low. They sold me a API KH carbonate hardness test kit and a bottle of Brightwell Aquatics KH buffer. They said it would help?Any ideas? Link to comment
The Propagator
http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chemcalc.html 150ppm KH is really really low. Your KH should be around 400-425ppm ( = 3.2 meq/l or 9 dkh ) 150ppm KH is like 3 dkh or something ! That could definitely be why you are having problems for sure. Raise it no more then 2 points per day though and add it slowly each day until its back up to snuff. I bet you have wicked slime algae huh ? Link to comment
