JTFISHY11 Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 I have a single 5.5 gal nano that I setup a little over a week ago. Obviously it would not be practical to buy an r/o unit. So I was wondering if anyone has used Aquafina bottled water (which is r/o filtered water) for their nano tanks? I can buy bulk quantities for pretty cheap and it seems like a good solution to buying an r/o unit for such a small tank. Link to comment

Distilled is perfectly acceptable and as pure as RO/DI. I think it would be cheaper than bottled drinking water and I'm not sure exactly what's in Aquafina. It may just be RO water. Link to comment

Scott Riemer Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 filtered tap water through RO I looked it up. To their credit, they pre-filter, polish filter, UV sterilize, RO, Activated Carbon, polish filter again, and ozonate. No DI. I'd go with distilled. Link to comment
StevieT Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 I remember Mr. A posting the details on their filter process. It is OK, they do add back minerals for taste, yet they don't hurt your reef since I use something similar in my reef. Distilled would be much cheaper Link to comment
