jejenkins
Yes. I fill mine all the way to just over elbow on the outlet (bulkhead) Link to comment
Waterproof
Does anyone fill their biocube past the maximum water level in the water pump chamber? yup. I fill mine right up around the bulkhead, usually just below. I have filter pad over the top of chamber 2, so if I fill over the bulkhead, chamber 2 tends to overflow directly into the chamber 3, which you don't want. Link to comment
mkregs
If you plan on installing a skimmer (like a Tunze)... and/or a fuge rack in chamber 2, then your level might need to be higher. It really depends on how much of a departure from "stock" you plan on going. IMO, if you are running with all of the stock equipment, the max level on the viewer window is fine. What do you have in your rear chambers (I mean in your tank of coarse..lol) Suggestion though...I upgraded to a maxi jet 1200 in chamber3 of my BC29 and realized a big difference in flow...and I didn't find that the 1200 caused the temp spike that I have read others have experienced.
