PoopCola
I recently bought an aqua c remora with a skim box and mj1200 I bought it for a 28 gallon bow front I was planning on setting up however I ended up building a 10 gallon AIO instead (money) So i have this aqua c remora set up on this tank I really dont think it is at all necessary So I am planning on selling it and replacing it with an aqua clear 70 or 110 with chemi pure and purigen as filter media that is unless, there are better options or it is a bad idea to begin with thanks Poop PS depending on what is said in the thread Ill be selling the skimmer pump and surface skimmer box for about 115 shipped Link to comment
bonsai reefer
an ac 70 or 110 will not keep the surface slime off your tank keep it or at least mod the ac to use the surface skimmer jmo. Link to comment

bonsai reefer
I just make a acryllic overflow box and put the intake of the aquaclear in it so it will suck the slime off the surface and in to the sponge filter of the ac My tank already has a surface skimmer built into the false wall Sell it and get more corals! psykobowler
do those attachments actually work? Yes, surprisingly enough the aquaclear surface skimmer does work. It even works better than the subcurrent surface skimmer that I got. You just have to monitor and replace the floss when necessary. Link to comment

disaster999
do not get it if you plan on using it on the 110. it will not keep up with flow unless you plan on modifying it to slow down the flow. Link to comment
PoopCola
so just to clarify The aqua c on the 10 gallon is minimally beneficial an d thus i should sell it or trade it right? that was really my original question how did the thread get to be about surface skimmers... Link to comment
PoopCola
see above post... sorry to ump, but my original question wasn't answered Link to comment
burtbollinger
keep the skimmer....you'll wish you had it someday if nothing else. IMO don't ditch good equipment. Build up components....plus, I really like running skimmers, even in tanks that small....but I'm paranoid. that said, i do have an aqua c remora nano I'd trade you even up, or I could toss in a few bucks via paypal....It would be ideal for your new project...its rated for up to 25g, has a smaller footprint...uses a MJ 909. PM me if interested. I'm running a 30 and could use your skimmer instead of this Remora Nano. Link to comment
PoopCola
Ill have to think about that man Ive decided to primarily keep zoas and rics and other softies... so my tank may not necessarily benefit from skimming If you have an aqua clear id be willing to trade... plus a bit of cash Ill think about your offer Link to comment
