r/o filter help needed

So i got one of those pet smart specials for a penny and I am confused on how it is supposed to work.

 

I checked to make sure that everything was where it was supposed to be. I am using the sink hookup.

 

The problem here is that i don't think it is actually filtering the water because it is going through the filter way to fast for a 24gpd filter. The filter filled half a 5g bucket in about 3 mins.

 

Where do you think the problem is?

RO membrane isn't seated properly, it should pop into place. Take it apart and make sure it is put in the way the diagram on the instructions show. You should be getting 2-3 drops per second from the blue tube, the red should be flowing pretty quickly, down the drain.

Thanks... i had the exact opposite on my filter. The red and blue hoses were in the right place but the membrane was not in like you said.
