15" High Tank Lighting

If i have a 15" high tank.......what lighting could i have to keeping beginner corals? such as zoo's, rics, mushrooms, etc

 

The tank is a 40 gallon tank.

 

please tell me how much lighting wattage and intensity would be good :)

It really depends on what you plan to keep. My 11 gallon is about that tall, but when you factor in a DSB, it gets shorter. I have 2 X 32 50/50 PC's on that tank. It also depends on what type of lighting you prefer. If your anything like me, your taste in corals will change as you get to see the pics that are posted here.

 

I only wanted zoos, shrooms and LPS in my 110. Now, I'm upgrading the lights because I want to keep some clams. That's probably going to cost me $300+ on top of the $270 set of PC's. I'm only upgrading to VHO's, if I was upgrading to MH I would've had to get a chiller and more fans as well as the lighting equipment.

 

IME, it's better to be 100% sure about what you want before you purchase your lights. Check out the members' tanks and check they're specs, I got a good idea about what lighting I should use from those threads.
