nyfishguy
my RSM light are brand new (replaced them about a month ago) and when the timer turns them on, they seem to take about 5 minutes to get to there full brightness. It look like half the bulb is bright and the other half is dim and then everything starts to work is this normal? i tested the lights with a friend of mines lumen meter after they come on all the way and they're putting out great (a bit better then i thougth they would honestly) any answers? ohh and i just realized that this should be in the lighting forum.....duh sorry Link to comment
Codeman
Probably the ballast, or reject bulbs? Link to comment
nyfishguy
you think the ballast could be goin on a tank that's less then a year old? Link to comment
Scott Riemer
If it was a BioCube, I'd say definitely ballast. Link to comment

121a
all lights need a bit of warm up time to reach peak emittingness. is it incredibly dim or just slightly? Link to comment
StevieT
Mine take a while to warm up, so I would say it is normal right now. As long as they fire, and come to full brightness, there really isn't anything wrong IMO. I come in to the office shortly after the lights come on, but I would estimate mine take 2-5 mins to get to full brightness. The gas has to heat up. Link to comment
