Deleted User 6
I tried the site search function but didn't dig up anything on this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...cfm?pcatid=9957 I'm looking to not break the bank on a refractometer. Is this one alright? Is there another that someone would recommend for around the same price? Thanks. Link to comment
Scott Riemer
That one will do you fine. You can probably find a similar one on ebay for less though. Also, calibrate it with 53.0mS salinity calibration solution instead of calibrating to 0 using distilled. Link to comment
Deleted User 6
Yeah, looks like ebay's got some for cheaper. Any warning signs of a crappy refractometer so that I don't buy something inexpensive that doesn't work? Link to comment
StevieT
Cheap junk from China, the prisim not be straight Link to comment
Scott Riemer
There used to be a guy on here rbdesigns that used to do group buys on these. That's how I got mine. I don't think he's done any for awhile though. Anyway, as long as you calibrate with 53.0mS solution, even a cheap refractometer will give you a pretty accurate reading. How about THIS ONE fr $30 and free shipping. Link to comment
