Is this refractometer ok?

That one will do you fine. You can probably find a similar one on ebay for less though. Also, calibrate it with 53.0mS salinity calibration solution instead of calibrating to 0 using distilled.

Yeah, looks like ebay's got some for cheaper. Any warning signs of a crappy refractometer so that I don't buy something inexpensive that doesn't work?

There used to be a guy on here rbdesigns that used to do group buys on these. That's how I got mine. I don't think he's done any for awhile though. Anyway, as long as you calibrate with 53.0mS solution, even a cheap refractometer will give you a pretty accurate reading.

Cheap junk from China, the prisim not be straight

 

I don't know, I have a cheap one from eBay and it reads the same as the uber-expensive one at my LFS when I compare the two ...
