bonsaidarrell
I've seen many mentions that skimmers need a break-in period. But what exactly happens to break-in a skimmer? Just curious... Link to comment
Shewillbemine
Basically, all the parts of a new skimmer are plastic slick with maybe even some oils from post production. In order for the bubbles to rise effectively and siphon all the "bad stuff" from your water, things have to be broken in. That's a very simple way of explaining it but I hope it helps. Whacked
to speed it up you can run the skimmer in a bucket of vinegar solution. Link to comment
