luckybaker Posted September 21, 2003 Share Posted September 21, 2003 I don't really know what you mean. Are you talking about a HOB? If so, then no you don't. But they are kind of nice for water movement and the addition of carbon if it is ever needed. If you get a big enough hob, you can also put your heater in it, taking it out of the aquarium. Most people that use the hob's remove the filter, as it kind of acts as a nitrate trap. Link to comment
