eidolon
Yeah, well if you've seen the movie, I have a couple of hitchikers that look kinda like that big plant that ate people. I bought a rock of about 16 small spotted mushrooms from my lfs today, and after acclimating and all that, I noticed these small pods, roughly 10 on the rock. They look kinda like little unopened rosebuds when they're closed, and then they open their mouths slightly and a small feather duster like tongue(best i can describe it) moves in and out constantly, collecting food i assume. I'd just like to know what they are for my info, and if they'd be harmful to my tank. Pictures below, you might be able to see one of the dusters extended in the first pic, its a little transparent so it may be hard to spot. Thanks for any help you can offer! Link to comment

Dave ESPI
Those would be barnacles. Filter feeders. They usualy die off over time from starvation. Quite common on Gulf rock. Try to feed um some liquid inver foods targeted at them over a few minutes time as they have small gill rakes that sweep through the water for food particles. Link to comment
