Well, I finally got a digital camera of my own, a PowerShot G3. I love this camera. So, without further ado, here are some updated photos of my 2yr-old ten gallon. Details will follow tomorrow...

-Pygmy Starfish (about 1/2")

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.

The tank as it looks in the photo is actually dirty. All of the glass gets a good cleaning weekly, and the tank gets a 6g water change. I mix DI water with Instant Ocean to 1.024SG, and raise Ca with Turbo Calcium by Kent. The Alk is usually OK when I mix it. I let it sit overnight with a Maxi-Jet 1200 and an Ebo-Jager heater set at 80deg F. I feed 1/2" cube of Brine Shrimp enriched with either Vita-Chem or Selcon to the fish daily. I feed Reef Solution, DTs, and Golden Pearls occasionally (each about 1x/week). Also, I sometimes break up an Algae Wafer and throw it in. Ca is kept at 430, Alk at 3.2 meq/L; pH goes from 7.7 at night to 8.3 by lights out. Photoperiod is:

40W Actinic: 8AM to 10PM

40W 10000K: 9AM to 9PM

9W 6500K (refugium): 8:55PM to 9:05AM

1W MoonLite: 9:55PM to 8:05AM

The only circulation is a Rio 600 as the return pump.

Whew! Let me know if I left out anything you'd like to know!

Thanks,

James

J-Bass:

I got the G3 from BeachCamera.com for $469.00 last week. I sprung for 2nd day air ($29.95). The total was $498.95. I ordered it Tuesday and had it Thursday by 1PM. I was pleased. :) I also ordered a 256MB SanDisk Ultra CF card to go with it from B&H (bhphotovideo.com) with the same awesome results. For that, I paid $69.95+14.50s&h=$84.45. It has a faster advertised write speed (2.8MB/sec) than I found with other brands in a similar price range.

I had to take some of the photos down and resize them for the web. I have put together a little photo gallery that includes shots from my tank, if you're interested.

Here's the link.

There are other shots from my G3 there, as well.

Thanks,

James
