Jahkaya Posted September 19, 2003 Share Posted September 19, 2003 4x96 should be fine. I would wait until your tank is established first 6 months plus and make sure you are able to feed it. Keep the Clam within 8-12" of the lights and the calcium and water quality high. Is this going over a 40 gallon? You may want to try a derasa at about the 4-5 month mark and "test the waters" so to speak. Why not go MH? Space constrictions? Link to comment
WetWilly Posted September 20, 2003 Author Share Posted September 20, 2003 well, i have this gut feeling that one MH wont be enough for a 30L and any setup that has two bulbs is twice as costly as the pc kit i mentioned. yes space is a consideration as well, there isnt enough space in my wallet either! Just keep all the super high light stuff at least 1 foot from the bulb in either direction. Lower light SPS like monti's and lower light clams like Derasa will do fine on the perimeter.
