I looked at this : Skilter 250 Protein Skimmer & Power Filter has anybody heard any good/bad things about these. Or offer any suggestions ? thks Link to comment

mattie Posted September 22, 2003 Share Posted September 22, 2003 I have seen one in action they seem to work okay but its a little noisy. there used to be a simple protien skimmer buy red sea it works great for a 10G or smaller but I haven't seen one in a while. adding a skimmer is not the always the answer I have one from aquairm systems which is a HOB model I only used it for a year and read so much on skimmers and unless you have a large bio load (lots of fish) you may never see the advantages i have not used it for over a year now and i have seen no differnce in clearity or any other parameters and its one less thing to clean Link to comment
