Eclipse hood modification for nano-reef

Hello guys, I would like to know if anyone has modified this particular eclipse, or even the eclipse 2 or eclipse 12, and what they had to modify to make this hood feasable for a nano-reef! Im assuming first and foremost lighting, but what had to be done to do this, and anything else involved, thank you!

I don't have Eclipse, but had hex tank with bio-wheel filter, built-in in the hood, together with light. If Eclipse has the same, I see two options:

 

I just removed lid and used separate light and HOP power filter.

 

But I read that Eclipse filtration should be very efficient. Then cutting off the light section should be possible, and replacing it by 50-70W PC, depending on planned corals and depth of the tank.
