I have never had a nano skimmer before, and I bought this skimmer second hand with no info with it. At what hight do you have the foam bubbles in the skimmer? I have the air valve all the way and it is was loud and when I cut it back some I can't see any bubbles coming up, and nothing happens. Is there some tricks or info that I need to know. My first nano, but not my first tank....thanks

Set it to where the bubbles come up halfway in the tube. Leave it there. The noise will go away, after adjusting, turning off, removing the cup, it is common to hear a sucking noise. The skimmer will reset itself in a short time and it will run very quiet.

 

Remember that all skimmers have a break in period. So set the foam to come half way up and make sure you have the water level correct at the line.

 

After skimmate is pulled up by the foam, it will spill over into the collection area.
