RaddReef319
I'm wondering if anyone has heard of someone making a tank thats a mixture of acrylic pieces and glass. The tank I'm thinking of would have the three sides and bottom of acrylic and the viewing front pane starfire glass. Could that work to seal them together? What potential problems would one run into? vangvace
glass and acrylic do not bond well together. that is why copious amounts of silicone is used when making sump baffles Link to comment
Timanator
I wanna say there are few manufactures that does this. But the process is very expensive(Elos is one of them). Link to comment
RaddReef319
The reason I wanted to make a tank that's a mixture is because it would be cheaper and I could afford a larger setup but if it has to be an ELOS $$$ or it will simply fall apart I guess its not such a good idea after all.
