Temp 78 PH 7.8 Salinity 1.024 Alk 7 Calcium 440 Nitrite 0 Phos 0 Nitrate 5.0 Ammonia 0 Do I need to raise my Alk? I know my ph is low but not sure how to raise it. Link to comment
bdare Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Are you keeping any hard corals? If you're keeping LPS or SPS I'd raise your alk to 7 or 8. This will help raise your Ph. If you raise your Alk and your Ph is still low, try opening a window to get more fresh air in the room with your tank. Link to comment

Temp 78 - OK PH 7.8 - Little Low, raise to 8.0 - 8.2 Salinity 1.024 - OK, but I would aim for 1.025 Alk 7 - Depends on Stock. Little Low, raise to 8 - 9 Calcium 440 - OK, but I would aim for 450 Nitrite 0 - Perfect Phos 0 - Perfect Nitrate 5.0 - Lower to 0 Ammonia 0 - Perfect Do I need to raise my Alk?
