Filtration Chamber examples

Hello..i have quick nano cube question..i have a 55 gallon FOWLR but im new to the nano reefs....

 

im just trying to find filtration ideas...im new to the "three chambers" and what the order i should put things in.....

 

i know ill need these things:

heater

skimmer

fuge

 

im not sure which order to put those things in or if thats enough filtration etc.

 

please help

WEll, you should probably include mechanical filtration in there somewhere. The order I would put them in is:

 

Mechanical filtration - Filter floss

Skimmer

Heater

Fuge

 

That way, the mechanical filtration takes out the large particles before it congests anything. The skimmer does not skim any useful copepods or fuge creatures, and everything is nice and easy.
