UWW
Will the Mighty Mite from Air water and Ice get 370-380 ppm water down to zero? Thanks! Link to comment
UWW
how often will the filters have to be changed and what do they cost? Link to comment
AZDesertRat
I would get a full sized unit that uses standard 10" replacement filters. The cost of a few small sized replacements will soon exceed the cost of a full sized 75 GPD RO/DI system. Something like their Typhoon III or maybe the 75 GPD Premium from www.buckeyefieldsupply.com . Both use full sized 10" prefilters, carbon blocks and most importantly full sized refillable 20 oz DI filters that work much much better than the small horizontal throw aways. The throw aways are $20 each to replace and with a full sized vertical DI you can get bulk 20 oz refills for about $8-$10 or less and they will last twice as long and filter twice as good.. The prefilter and carbon block in any RO/DI system should be changed every 6 months. The DI is dependent on the quality of the water exiting the RO membrane and how much water you make. It make get the TDS to 0 for a short time but will not last long with the low capacity DI filter. You are also going to want a nice handheld TDS meter to gauge RO and DI condition and both the Typhoon III and Premium come with one in the package. Link to comment
