Maniac
I have 2x36w pc's on my 10g now. I have tried 50/50, 10z, and 10k/actinic in every combo possible. They still don't make things glow like URI VHO bulbs. I don't know what brand they are. They are the 4 pin in a row. Can I wire my 36w ballast to a square pin bulb or a 4 in a row bulb as long as they are 36w. What bulbs do you think give the best colors. Thanks!! -Tom Link to comment
NanoReefer53
NO and VHO give off the best actinic spectrum because they are the "true" actinics. PC's just have color blue but no really into the 420nm range. That's why most people use PC 10k's but NO or VHO actinics. Link to comment
OscarBeast
http://www.hellolights.com/36w.html I use these and really like the color. I use one 10,000K and one Actinic. "* Contains real Actinic phosphors similar to proven Super Actinics. * Emits light that peaks at 420 and 430nm. " (Edited by OscarBeast at 10:55 pm on Feb. 28, 2002) Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Hello Lights PC lamps are actually true actinic, which I think you will like. Up until recently true actinic bulbs were never made, so perhaps that is why you were not happy with your old ones. I would go with their 03 actinic and 10,000K. Link to comment
Maniac
Thanks for the info. I will give it a try. It won't hurt to have a spare bulb anyway! -Tom Link to comment
