MountainM Posted September 11, 2003 Share Posted September 11, 2003 Hello everyone, I spent the summer in miami and when I got home my dad had got my a hood for my nano... it takes two floro's and I just put an attinic bulb to replace one of the bulbs, the bulb I took out was a t-8 I put in a t-10... it lights fine.. will ti kill the balast or anything ? MrConclusion Posted September 16, 2003 Share Posted September 16, 2003 Not if it's the same wattage. Many fixtures are interchangeable between t8 and t12 without noticing a difference. The difference is in the size of the envelope, not the operating frequency, starting current, or wattage - which is all that the ballast cares about. Link to comment
MountainM Posted September 16, 2003 Author Share Posted September 16, 2003 Yeah I've been watching the ballast's lately, seems to be doing fine, but its nice to hear that it won't hurt anything for sure... What kind of corals do you think I can place in there now? I have a double floro fixture... two 30 watt bulbs... one actinic, the other daylight. Link to comment
