Coralife 65 Skimmer pump died

As title says, my pump died. Actually my pump may be okay, but my impeller is gone.

 

Does anyone know if a maxijet with venturi would be a decent pump on a skimmer, or should i try purchasing some sort of needlewheel? I dont want to spend more than 30 getthing this fixed.

i think the pump on there is the rio 800... its a fairly cheaply priced pump only like 20bucks... how did your needle wheel break?

really it is just teh impeller, the white bar in teh middle of it became calciumfied to everything, resulting it it breaking, now i am stuck with am impellar that bounces around inside of the pump. It actually does work, but when starting the pump, i need to start it outside of the tank, shake teh pump until it starts working, then put it back in the tank and connect it to the skimmer. It is also a little loud now due to this.
