Eshopps overflow on a nanocube?

So I'm kind of renovating my tank. I'm getting rid of the hood so I can have an overflow that actually works and I won't have to play with it every other day. Is it feasible to get an Esshops PF-300 overflow and put it on my cube? I'm NOT drilling, out of the question. If, say I placed it on the left side next to the surface skimmer and placed a spray bar type return on the opposite side will it still work? I'm worried the interaction with the back chambers will mess it up. Anyone done it? I did a pretty good search and didn't come up with much.
