livingword26
I have a home drinking water filter that has a sub-micron filter and a carbon block. It gets most of the bad stuff out, except the minerals of course. I would like to hear some opinions on how water from this filter would work in a saltwater aquarium. Thanks. Link to comment
blake134
Don't cheap out. I tried using water from my Brita and it doesn't turn out so good. Just buy ro/di from your lfs or buy a ro/di unit. Btw don't use walmarts cullegen water that says it is ro/di. They never change the filters. Link to comment
StevieT
No, it doesn't remove enough metals and minerals from the water. Copper is a huge risk in reef tanks, same with phosphates and much more. The TDS on water from your filter may not be low enough, but it isn't a bad idea to get it tested to make sure. Invest in a RO/DI machine or buy from another source. Link to comment
