Karl2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Share Posted October 26, 2008 Hello all I currently have A 25 gallon tank. I have started to get patches of hair algea throughout the tank. I use distilled water for topp off and water changes. I have 4 24watt t5 ho for lighting. Lighting period is from 2pm actinics are on 3pm whites come on 9pm whites go off and at 10 actinics go off. Phosephates are at zero along with nitrate. Amonia is at zero alk is at 8dkh ph 8.2 I have A korellia one for flow also running An ehime 2213 canister. Is there not enough flow. Clean up crew consists of three orange turbos i belive three hermit crabs, One scarlet hermit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Link to comment
Sergeant-G Posted October 26, 2008 Share Posted October 26, 2008 where do you get your distilled water from and you phosphates read zero because the algea is using it up. I used to get mine from walmart and the phosphates differed from jug to jug Link to comment
bdare Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 If you've got GHA, no doubt it's coming from phosphate and or nitrates. The biggest source of phosphate in a tank is food. You either need to input less or export more. Have a skimmer? Are you running GFO? Link to comment
