potsy webber
I Just started my 34G Solana and I wanted to see if there are any tips or guidelines when it comes to placing powerheads. I've got 2 Koralia 1s and an AquaClear 30. As you can see from the pics, I have a Koralia on each side of the tank and the AquaClear in the back middle point down. The Koralia's are always on, I have the AquaClear set to come on and off at 40-second intervals. Any advice for creating a consistent flow? Thanks! Link to comment
uwwmatt
Your goal should be to create as few dead spots as possible in your tank, so place the powerheads accordingly. (Dead spots is where detritus is going to builds up) Another thing to consider is what type and where you want to place corals. Corals have different needs and preferences when it comes to flow. I like to have one of my powerheads facing the waters surface to help break it up and keep the surface clean. Link to comment
VDub90
I have good luck with the powerheads on the side around the middle pointing pretty much right across to the other side. Link to comment
