m1sza
Hi. Can you tell me which species of clownfish feel good without an anemone? I don't want to keep anemone, beacuse i've heard many bad things about them (hard to keep, sensitive etc). It is true that every clownfish is looking for substitute of anemone? I'm affraid that they would like host a clavularia sp. for example. Maybe a good choise is maroon clownfish? Tank - 20 gal. TIA, and sorry for my english Gretz Link to comment
Orange Crush
get a true or false percula. they stay relatively small and you'll be able to have 1-2 more fish in the tank. If you want a maroon, they can go up to 5 inches full grown and so you could keep it, but nothing else, in a 20. (Many people would tell you not to even keep it in your 20.) As for hosting, some fish will pick a surrogate host, but even if they don't, they can live perfectly happily without it, esp if you get a tank raised clown. Link to comment
Chamkeeper
Tank raised Clowns seem a lot less likely to host. Mine doesn't host at all but has a clearly defined territory in the tank. Link to comment
m1sza
Hmmmm, I was thinking about trying with bubble tip anemone. What do you think, about my lighting: 3x 24W T5's ATI (Narva) - Aquablue (60% daylight 40% actinic), Sun (10000K), Actinic. That's 74W. Tank 20 gal as i said. Is the light sufficient? I can get another one T5 if it's necessary (it will be 96W ). Link to comment
