rdbiker
when performing water changes, do you mix sea salt the day before, same day or what? if you mix a day or more in advance, how do you store it? i am currently a fresh water tanker, but would like to switch to sw soon. trying to gather as much info as i can before the plunge. thanks all. Oceanic 30g
I mix it in a 5 gallon bucket the day before and let it stir with a power head and a heater for 24 hours. Link to comment

The Propagator
Some mix the night before and some don't. If you don't just be sure to mix it up real good and give it 45 minutes or so to completely dissolve. I use a little plastic rod to swish mine around real good in a 5 gallon bucket to make sure its aerated. Wait 30 minutes or so then on with the show... Done that since for ever and no problems yet. It's pretty much user preference as long as you have a quality salt that dissolves fast. Link to comment
hazmat
I used to mix mine the day before. Now I mix the day of and give it about an hour to mix and heat up. Haven't had any issues. Link to comment
