nastynate Posted September 11, 2008 Share Posted September 11, 2008 well i have myself into another position here a few weeks ago when i was buying things and getting ready to set up my tank, LFS sold me a nano remora HOB skimmer... seems great to me, but wtf do i know? well today after it is up and running for a couple weeks i realize that the nano remora is only rated for up to 25g and i thought i was getting the 75g remora. oops. i am running it on a 29g reef tank. looked into it more when i emptied the cup 3 times in 24 hours... so the only real difference seems to be that the nano is just a few inches shorter than the plain remora, and i notice that some people are upgrading from the 1200 to a higher capacity pump on those things, so wouldn't i be able to upgrade from the 900 to the 1200 on my nano to increase the capacity? also can i use a surface skimming box with the nano? it says it is made for the remora, but i am assuming it would fit...
