perverseosmosis
Looking to pick up a pH probe for my AquaController jr. I see that there are standard ones and lab grade, but no real mention of what lab grade means. More accurate? Heavy duty? Nerdier and better at chess? Is the difference more than "just $20"? Thanks Link to comment
scottyreef
its about precision normal use would have reading error ranging +/- 5% and lab grade is +/- 1% of calibrated range. It would also speak of its quilty of electode, the thickness of glass and purity of potassium chloride (KCI) solution. Link to comment
Phixion
Perverse, you guess it right yourself, and Scotty elaborated on it. It should also last longer and hold calibration longer as well... Link to comment
perverseosmosis
I don't know if the standard probe comes with calibration solution, but the lab grade one doesn't. Guess I gotta go track some of that down. Link to comment

Phixion
Also hydroponic shops should carry pH calibration fluid as well. Link to comment
