Making use of an sump..

Hello all..

 

I have a 25 gallon tank that contains an overflow leading to an area that use to house bio-balls (sump). The area that contained the bio-balls is sectioned off from the tank. I am thinking about placing live sand and starting a refugium. Does anyone see potential problems with what I'm doing. Any advice would be appreicated.
