Kingofthejungle
Hello, my nano has 0 ppm ammonia and 0.5 ppm nitrite,is it safe to put in the hermit crabs and snails and shrimps now? Link to comment
yOyOYoo
I would wait until you have no more nitrite and begin to develop a little bit of Nitrate. You should wait until your cycle is complete: no more ammonia or nitrite first. Link to comment
Physh1
Word....don't rush it. Wait till the ammonia and nitirte are at 0 until you add things. Cameron Link to comment
Blownpony
What should nitrates be at? Still can't get a handel on all this stuff. SHould they be at 0 and if so how do you lower them? My tank is a couple weeks old everything is at zero but but nitrates are at 10. Link to comment
yOyOYoo
Regular water changes should lower the nitrate level. Nitrate levels should be kept as low as possible. Link to comment
Physh1
Trates don't have to be at zero. In fact some (including myself) believe that some trates (around 10) is good. I'd suggest that anything under 25 is acceptable and anything over that should be lowered. Water changes are the best/easiest way to lower them but some tank critters soak it up.
