I just set up my nano today

 

But, I just tested my Nitrate and Nitrite and I got;

 

Nitrate 50 (is this 50 or 5?)

Nitrite .1 (too high)

 

I got the Salifert tests, but I dont understand exactly how the Nitrate works, the bars go to 100, but Do I devide by 10? or is it 50? ( I fell stupid ) Please help with this.

I dont know if its just because my tank is cycling or I am retarded (opps mentally challenged...) HELP.

Ohh, one more thing, My tank has been cloudy since 3:05 p.m. How long does it take for every thing to 'settle down'? Thanks.

Sand cloud probably will last a day or two, your powerheads probably keep it from settling. Put in a carbon filter to speed it up.

 

If you just set up the tank, give it a few days and then start taking readings. You tank will take a few weeks to a month or two to properly cycle.

Should I turn off my power head for a few hours so it can settle ??? , I'm not sure if I should, I run a Rio 600 and (I think) it does around 200gph. Thanks for the help!
