Off brand deal or Name brand quality?

Would you buy off brand or name brand? To some off brand is good because it's cheaper. Some say you get what you paid for, but is the extra money always worth the better quality? let's here it

I think it depends on what I'm looking for. But most of the time it is worth it to go with the name-brands.

Really? LIke, say, if you were looking at T5HO lighting you would rather buy one of those cheap ebay units than an ATI powermodule? Or a cheap no-name ebay bulb over a Phoenix, or a radium or ushio? IMO, of all equipment, lighting is the place where you wouldnt want to go no-name.

Name brand for things that earn their "name brand" (not just expensive)... like lighting However, I usually try to find the things that are well-known and reputable but at the lowest cost possible (like retrofit T5s with Icecap reflectors).
