I recently seen a tank with this, and was wondering what kind of lighting causes this? Is it the MH or moonlighting? I know its not PC because I have that. All I know is I loved the effect that it gave the tank. Can someone help me on this?

The shimmer is caused from the metal halide lighting. Why? The light from a metal halide comes from the arc tube that emits the light. Because the light comes from a single point and not across a length (like a PC tube) the light catches ripples and waves on the water surfaces which reflect/refract/etc and give you a shimmer. It's very cool:D

Yeah... just today I upgraded from PC to MH. I got a PFO 150w pendant. The light is awesome and the shimmer is beautiful. Within minutes, my turbinaria opened more than it ever had before! I'm going clam shopping now!
