Help please! Scared that I won't get my money back!

Ok so I ordered the mighty mite and it arrived and had 2 things broken off. They are relatively clean cuts but tiny. I already e-mailed Air, Water & Ice but it is sunday and I don't expect anything soon. I believe they have lifetime warranties for them though.

 

However now I just looked at their warranty page and it looks like I might not get my money back because I wasn't there to get the package! I live at a dorm so our front desk signs for our packages and then they give us a slip and we get the package! I wasn't even here when it was delivered! I was out of town! Do you think I will get my money back? I'm freaking out because it was $113! I don't have this kind of money to be throwing around!

If you want anyone to offer help you need to be MUCH MORE SPECIFIC about what exactly broke off.

I wouldn't worry much about the shipping "issue" the package was signed for and was dropped off at a secure location.

 

The best thing to do is dispute it right away with paypal. That way the vendor is aware and a resolution will happen quickly, if nothing does get resolved then you get a refund for your payment.

 

If you just received it and sent an email, yes it is Sunday so don't expect anything until tomorrow. I don't see this as such an urgent thing, relax a bit I am sure they can send you a new unit or the peices to fix the one you received.

Well the intake valve snapped off and a hose snapped off.

 

I kept reading that warranty page and I decided to go to the UPS website and they have a file a damaged package claim. I called to make sure that since I opened it if it was void or not and since I opened a bag in the box. She said no it was not void and to leave it at my front desk for the UPS man to pick up so it can be inspected. Then I believe that if they determine if it is their fault they pay me for the damaged items. Hopefully this will work out in my favor.

 

I'm just a worry wart and panic at the thought of loosing 113 dollars!

I hope so... after talking to the UPS lady I feel a little better that I will get a new one. I'm just tired and cranky from driving to canada and back (lost money in the casino so not happy then) then resting for a night then driving to a concert and back in one day and it was 3 hours a way. I need a vacation from vacation :P. Back to work tommorrow... lol

wheeewwwwwwww chill out!!!

 

If they didn't pack it well enough to survive a UPS shipment, then they are responsible. All UPS packages are under a $100 insurance so there are many options for you.

 

I would wait to see what they say tomorrow if they respond to your email.

Yeah I feel better and better about it looking at the packaging... they bubble wrapped the filters and didn't bubble wrap the ends that popped off. Plus the box it comes in is WAAAAAY too small... impossible to pack as it is. So I do feel a little better. I just panic easily! :wacko: Probably shouldn't be making a saltwater tank then should I :P

Well it says on their website that if I'm not happy they are happy. So hopefully everything will work out! :) I just live by Murphy's law! :P Like when it was my senior prom... got appendicitis... however I beat that sucker down and I went to prom even though I had only been out of surgery for a day. lol. It's ok I was allowed... I just wasn't allowed to dance. omgomgomg

Air Water Ice is an excellent company with great customer service. I am sure they will work it out.

YAY! I got in contact with Air water and ice and I took pictures of the unit and they are very confused as to how UPS managed this one but are going to go on ahead and send me a new one tommorrow :)

 

Crisis averted :bling::happydance:
