Godsmack00
Do to countless hours of reading up on RO/DI units, and there value in this hobby, I purchased the Pure-Flo 4-stage RO/DI unit. I did a search beforehand, however came up short regarding my questions. The instructions explain how to remove and store the membrane but do I ever have to remove it from the housing? I currently run it a few times a week, and produce about 10 gallons of pure water for my tanks. Also, I notice a small hissing sound coming from the membrane housing area. I assume the water pressure running through the system is causing the noise, but I couldn’t find any literature on it. It not a deafening sound, just a light “hiss”. Thanks…. Link to comment
Mr. Fosi
Don't think you'll have to remove it until you're ready to replace it. Link to comment
SeeDemTails
You need to get the water valves the sell at home depot, they are for ice makes I think, and fit the size tube of ro systems fine. You dont want to let your membrane dry out, thats makes these perfect because they keep the unit filled with water. Most LFs's sell them too, at a huge mark up. Just get them from a hardware store.
